About Us
loveMULL started because the guides we found when planning a trip to Mull weren't quite right.
This is a guide written by people who know the island — not comprehensively, nobody knows it comprehensively — but honestly. We've eaten in the restaurants, driven the single-track roads, taken the wildlife tours, stood on the Staffa boat in the rain, and crossed to Iona on a Tuesday in October when there were six other people there.
We cover where to eat, where to stay, what to do, how to get here, and what buying property on the island actually looks like. We update it when things change. We say when somewhere isn't worth it as well as when it is.
The Shop & Giving Back to Mull
We made a small range of things we wanted ourselves. "Worth the Ferry" is the line that started it. The rest followed naturally.
25% of every loveMULL shop sale goes directly to the Mull and Iona Community Trust — a locally run charity established in 1997, working to improve the quality of life for residents across Mull and Iona. They work on housing, community transport, renewable energy, and economic development. They have 26 staff, all based on the island, and net assets of over £9 million built over 28 years of genuine community work.
Mull is worth the ferry because of the community that lives here. This is our small way of giving something back.
We keep records of every sale and donation. You can see an annual update on this page — what was donated and when.

How we make money
Some links on loveMULL are affiliate links — mainly accommodation through Booking.com. If you book through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It's how we keep the lights on.
We don't take payment for listings or recommendations. Everything featured is there because we think it's worth your time.
